Pavilion and Picnic Site Reservations

Lion's PavilionKirkwood Residents & Businesses may start booking for the next calendar year on the first working day of November. Non-residents may start booking pavilions and picnic sites the first working day of February for the year in which they are reserving facilities. Athletic Fields are located at Kirkwood Park and Greentree Park and are also available for rental.

Kirkwood Aquatic Center - Opens for the Season May 24th

Enjoy a variety of exciting water attractions at the Kirkwood Aquatic Center, including:

  • 10-Lane Competition Pool – Ideal for lap swimming and competitive events.

  • Zero-Depth Entry Family Pool – Perfect for all ages to wade in safely.

  • Kiddie Pool with Play Features – Designed for younger swimmers with fun interactive elements.

  • Lazy River – Relax and float along (tubes provided).

  • Two 3-Story Water Slides – Experience thrilling twists and turns.

Admission Policies & ID Cards

ID Cards are available at the Kirkwood Community Center front desk during normal business hours. They can be renewed online,  first time visitors must visit the Community Center to obtain them before visiting the pool.

  • Cost: $15 per card for residents (valid for 3 years), $17 for non-residents (valid for current season only) (originals and replacements).

  • Everyone age 4 and over must have an ID card.

  • You must be 16 years or older to purchase an ID card without a guardian (an adult age 16 or older living at the same address) present.

Residents (R)

  • Those residing in Kirkwood and Glendale are considered residents (R).

  • Residents can enter the facility by presenting their Kirkwood Parks and Recreation issued ID card and paying resident daily admission, or purchasing a season pass.

  • For entry, you must present a Kirkwood Parks and Recreation-issued ID card. No other form of ID will be accepted.

  • Each Resident ID card holder may bring up to 5 guests per day. Guests pay a daily admission fee of $10 per person.

  • To obtain a Resident ID card, you must present:

    • A valid and current photo ID

    • A current utility bill (gas, water, electric, or phone), bank statement, or voter ID card issued to your home address within the last 3 months.

  • ID Cards are valid for 3 years and expire on October 31 of the final year.

Non-Residents (NR)

  • Non-residents may enter the facility by purchasing a NR ID card, a NR season pass, or as a guest of a resident.

  • All non-residents, including guests, must purchase their own ID card to enter the aquatic center without a resident.

  • Entry fee is waived for each NR ID card holder on the day the card is purchased.

  • NR season pass holders must present a Kirkwood Parks and Recreation-issued ID card. No other form of ID will be accepted.

  • To obtain a Non-Resident ID card, you must present:

    • A valid and current photo ID

  • ID cards are valid until the end of each pool season.

 

Make a Splash with an Aquatic Center Party!

Looking for the coolest (and easiest!) way to celebrate under the summer sun? Host your party at the Kirkwood Aquatic Center! Our party packages include 15 all-day admissions, a reserved party area for 1.5 hours, and permission to bring a birthday cake into the facility. Arrive anytime that works for you—your wristbands are valid all day!

Party Pricing:

  • Season Pass Holders: $70 ($6 per additional guest)

  • Residents: $120 ($8 per additional guest)

 A clean-up fee will apply if the party area is not left tidy. Max: 30 guests per party.

Dog Pool Party
Treat your pup to a dog-gone good time in the pool! Dogs must be on a leash when not swimming, and owners must bring cleanup supplies. Proof of DHLPP & rabies vaccinations required at entry. Proceeds benefit the Missouri Alliance for Animal Legislation.

A special splash time just for little ones! Children 0-5 years old can play safely in the kiddie pool, while kids 6-11 may join if accompanied by a younger child and an adult.

Courtney Shupe Scholarship Program
Providing assistance to youth 17 & under facing economic challenges, this scholarship helps cover costs for swim & dive lessons and season passes.

Early Morning Lap Swim
Rise and shine with extra lap swim hours! Mon.-Fri. 6/2-8/8 | 6:00-7:20 AM
Residents: $60 | Non-Residents: $85 (Free for season pass holders!) Special hours on 7/14 & 7/15: 5:30-6:30 AM due to swim meet. If rained out, backup date is 7/16.


Swim & Dive Meets
The competition pool will close early for home swim & dive meets on 6/16 & 7/9 at 2:30 PM, but the rest of the facility remains open. Half-price daily admission for residents & non-residents on these days! (Dates subject to change.)


Swim Lessons
Each session includes 8 lessons—no lessons June 30 - July 4. Juneteenth (6/19) lessons will be held on 6/20.

Swim Classifications (Ages & skills vary)

  • Shrimp (Parent & Child) (12 months - 3 years) Ages 12 months-3 years. Swimmers with little or no experience will be taught water safety, floating, kicking, arm strokes, blowing bubbles, and object recovery. Parent is in the water with their child.

  • Sea Horse (2.5 - 4 years) Ages 2.5-4 years. For participants with little or no experience. Skills taught include water safety, floating, bubbling, kicking, arm strokes and object recovery. Child needs to easily separate from parent. 

  • Starfish (4 - 6 years) Ages 4-6 years. For participants who have completed Sea Horse or can put face in water for at least three seconds. Skills taught include water safety, front kicking, object recovery, bobbing, back float, front crawl, and intro to using a kick board.

  • Guppy (School-age beginners) For school-age beginners. Skills taught include water safety, front crawl, back float with kicking, deep water orientation, bobbing, front float with glide and kicking, and object recovery.

  • Flipper (Advanced beginners) Advanced beginner level for the independent swimmer with no flotation device. Skills taught include water safety, rhythmic breathing with support, backstroke, underwater swim, treading water, standing dive, and deep water orientation.

  • Seal (Intermediate level) Intermediate level. Skills taught include water safety, rhythmic breathing with freestyle, breast stroke, back stroke, racing dive, and treading water for 1 minute. Advanced swimmers will concentrate on stroke technique (freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, butterfly), endurance, and perfecting the racing dive. This is a great class to take the summer before trying out for swim team! 

  • Private Swim Lessons

    30-minute private swim lessons are available for youth and adults. One additional person can be registered for the same private lesson for an additional $40 (for each 3 lessons). Lessons canceled for any reason without 24 hours’ notice will not be rescheduled. Participants are permitted one reschedule date within a 3-lesson package and two reschedule dates within a 6-lesson package. Register online for swim lessons (discounted price for additional person not available online- please call the community center to set this up). Lessons will run from 6/2-8/2, their will be no lessons on the week of June 30th to July 4th, and Wednesday, Juneteenth (6/19) is a holiday. Register Online or by phone at 314-822-5855.


PADI Seal Team Scuba Camp
Ages 8-14 get a hands-on intro to scuba diving! Certified instructors from Y-kiki Divers lead this exciting pool-based camp.
