Kirkwood Residents & Businesses may start booking for the next calendar year on the first working day of November. Non-residents may start booking pavilions and picnic sites the first working day of February for the year in which they are reserving facilities. Athletic Fields are located at Kirkwood Park and Greentree Park and are also available for rental.
NOTICE - The Ice Rink will be closed beginning Friday, Feb. 27 through July 31 for renovations. Renovations include new Ice Plant, Floor, Lighting, Dehumidification, and more. Stay tuned for updates.

Please note that you must live in the Cities of Kirkwood or Glendale to be considered a resident at the ice rink. ID required.
General Public Skating Information
Buckets (skate aids) are available on a first come first served basis. Limit, one per skater. Children using a bucket should be accompanied by an adult. Buckets are generally for skaters 8 and under.
Full hockey equipment is strongly discouraged during public skating and is allowed only for children 8 and under.
Skating Lessons
Learn to skate! The Kirkwood Ice Arena offers a wide range of skating lessons for ages 4 and up. If registering online for the first time, please allow up to 48 hours to set up your account. Registration can also be made by visiting the Community Center office or by calling 822-5855 (during business hours).
2026-27 Skating Lesson Sessions:
Session 1: Monday's, September 14 - October 26, 2026
Registration will begin early to mid August. Please check back.
Session 2: Monday's, November 2 - December 14, 2026 Saturday's, November 7 - December 19, 2026
Session 3: Monday's, January 4 - March 8, 2027
Saturday's, January 9 - March 6, 2027
Session 4: April-May, 2027 TBA
Session 5: June-July, 2027 TBA
*No Skating lessons, March through August 2026 due to rink renovations.
Group Lesson General Information
Sorry, no make up classes at this time.
All participants canceling in advance from a program voluntarily must present the request in writing and will be assessed a minimum $5.00 program charge. Participants that cancel voluntarily less than one week prior to the start of the program may only receive a partial refund.
Classes are divided by age and/or ability and filled on a first come, first serve basis. Classes may be combined, changed, or cancelled based on registration levels. Skaters not registered in the appropriate class may be moved.
There will be no confirmation letters, calls, or e-mails prior to classes starting.
All classes must be paid in full prior to first lesson. We do not pro rate for missed classes.
All classes will be closed after two weeks.
Please be sure your child is ready to participate as we do not offer "try it" classes.
Skate rental included in fee. Please check in with cashier upon arrival for ticket to get skates.
Helmets and gloves are required and full hockey equipment is recommended for all hockey classes.
Private Lesson Information

Private lesson fees do NOT include the price of admission and/or skate rental. These fees are payable directly to the rink.
Our Coaching Staff operate as Independent Contractors who use our facility to teach their private lessons; therefore, they set their own schedule based on their availability. Payment for the lesson is made to them directly.
Stick and Puck
These sessions offer participants the opportunity to get on the ice with their own hockey stick and puck. HECC approved helmet (with cage if under 18), gloves, stick, skates, and puck required. Sessions are limited to 30 skaters. Skate rentals are not available. Hourly admission fees are $6.00 for Kirkwood residents and $7.00 for Non residents.

Freestyle Sessions
Freestyle sessions are available to figure skaters and coaches only. Sessions offer figure skaters a chance to work on jumps, spins, dance routines, and more. Sessions are limited to 30 skaters. Skate rentals are not available. Hourly admission fees are $6.00 for Kirkwood Residents and $7.00 for Non Residents.

Party Room
$150.00 for Kirkwood residents and $170.00 for Non Kirkwood residents (due in advance).
Price includes admission, skate rental, and party room for up to 25 skaters.
Room is available 1/2 hour before public session begins and 1/2 hour after public session ends.
Table decorations only. Room has six 6' tables and 30 chairs.
Customer is responsible for returning the room to it's original condition.
Food and beverage can be brought in when renting the party room.
Gateway Speed Skating Club offers speed skating opportunities for all ages. The club practices regularly at the Kirkwood Ice Arena between September and March.
